Compare Directories: 'include directories' too please

Post by *BigMug »

The function "Compare Directories" currently only compares files within the specified directories.
It would be good if it could also compare directory names to show which ones don't exist on the other side.[/b]

cm_CompareDirsWithSubdirs does work indeed. I didn't even know you can just issue commands like that. So thanks very much for the tip.

But i think it would still be good if this was a menu option rather than command line, cause I am sure there are many users out there who like me don't know about these command line instructions.

This command can be put on your menu and also on buttons of course.
There are many more commands which are not shown by default.
You may have a look on Peters extended menus for example.

Great - thanks guys.
I added a button and it works. Also found it on Peter's extended menus.

I don't usually show the botton bar and Peter's extended menu is overkill for me.

I suppose I could create my own menu file to add this command ..

You can add the command to TC's start menu. That's much less work than modifying the menu files. Or - if you're a keyboard user - you can add some keyboard hotkey to the command (Options > Misc).
