Internet Shortcuts on the Button Bar

Post by *RoryJnr »

Hi all,

I use the button bar for all my applications, nothing on the desktop and next to nothing in the start menu.

Is it possible to add shortcuts quickly to the button bar for browser favourites?

I've added a second bar and added a couple of shortcuts already by selecting an icon and entering the URL into the command line.

What I'd like to do is export my bookmark bar from Chrome and import it as a button bar

Any ideas or is this a none starter?
Thanks
Rory

You can do it in a two step process.
1. Drag the icon from the browser to a TC file panel. An URL file is created.
2. Drag the URL file to the buttonbar

Unfortunately the website icon isn't considerd although it is stored in the URL file.

IE handles its favorites in URL files in the favorite folder. So if you can manage to export your Chrome favorites into IE favorites this should be a no-brainer.

It would be cool to have option to specify Icon for button in buttonbar as an URL link to favicon, like this: https://www.google.com/favicon.ico.

I know that then every time when button in buttonbar is loaded, icons need to be fetched from the Internet. But this can be resolved with some kind of cache in TC... What do you guys think?

amilino,
Well, for the time being you can download the icon.

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.
