Browse archive with custom extension as a folder

Post by *ThiefMaster »

How can I tell TC that e.g. a .whl file (python wheel) is a zip archive and that I want to enter it like a folder or any archive with a standard extension (like .zip)?

Currently, doubleclicking a .whl file or pressing ENTER while its' selected results in it being shell-executed - it's associated with TC so I do end up inside it, but even if I doubleclicked it on the right side of TC it opens on the left.

Depends on how often you need that feature.
Usually I on my own just quickly add a '.zip', go inside, go out and remove that additional extension again.

I'd prefer to have it available all the time. FWIW, even without renaming I can just use CTRL+PGDOWN to go inside, but I wonder if there's a way to not have to use that shortcut instead of just doubleclicking or pressing enter.

Just unregister association with TC, leave this extension unassociated.
TC tries open unregistered file type as a archive by default.

Do you need that association?

Perhaps try removing that association:

They can be opened with Ctrl+PageDown. If *.jar isn't associated with a different program (Files->Associate with), you can also open the file with ENTER
