color the files with the same name in a folder

in a folder there are 3 files with the almost equal name (home and the same)

house and rent 1991
house and sea 1992
countryside and mountain 1992

I would like the same names to be colored in the folder
in this case house

You can only do it by making a rule for each word (here "house"), and the whole file name plus size, date etc will be colered like this:
http://madsenworld.dk/tcmd/housecolor.png - and even if there is only one file with "house" in the name in a folder, it will be colored.

But for another word common in the filenames, you have to make a new rule.

It is not possible to Highlight dynamically a word inside the filelist.

I use a workaround for this, i've made a custom command en_select like:

command: SELECTFILES
parameters: ? **

You can link your command to a button bar, a hoitkey or even an alias. Once called, a popup ask you for selection parameter you can enter house between the two stars --> *house*
all the file containing the word house will be selected -> highlighted.

Another solution is to use the quicksearch with filtering ([ctrl]+S).

EDIT: I understand what you mean - there's no color scheme suits Alexisback' needs.

And with a dynamic coloring all these 3 should be marked because of the common word "and".

And here all 4 files should be maked because of the common string "199" etc., etc.

I don't think it is possible to make an algoritm that would suit all needs - and what one person would think is the important common string others might not. What you ask for is Artificial Intelligence.

That can be configured: "Configuration" -> "Options..." -> "Quick Search" -> "Exact name match:" -> REMOVE checkmark at "Beginning (name must start with first typed character)"

- "house" to filter out the 3 files with name "house".
- "house|mountain" or "house|country" to get all of your 4 files.
- "sea | mountain" to filter for files "countryside and mountain 1992.txt" and "house and sea 1992.txt".

CTRL + S does not have to be pressed before, but can be pressed [to make settings for example].
CTRL + Shift + S recalls the previous search filter.

this and very useful (to filter many files), does not color the files but does its job very well

Using selectfiles *house* should select all the file in the current tab containing house. To get it highlighted, you can use some color preferences :
mark -> any fuo clolor (you can give a try with yellow if you have dark font)
tick the "use inverted selection" option.

It will help you a lot to see the file you select....
