lzvk25,
I'd never use anything but Total Commander either, but Christian has graciously allowed this topic for discussion of other file managers for those people who may not think that Total Commander is for them, i.e. it doesn't work the way they work.
I have a newbie-ish friend who hates the Norton Commander style file managers but loves the way Windows Explorer works. ExplorerPlus is a perfect fit for him.
I also figure this is a very handy way for Christian to keep an eye on the competition. He can check out what they are up to and implement any ideas they come up with that he deems suitable for inclusion in Total Commander.
Now as for it being bloated, well, the program file size is fairly big, but there's a couple of utilities included in there besides a file manager. And as for the expansion pack, don't freak out on that. It's just a custom version of QuickView Plus that only works with ExplorerPlus.
The one feature I love though about ExplorerPlus is the filetips showing a thumbnail of JPGs, GIFs, etc. in a user-definable size when you hover over the filenames. Wish there was a way to get that into TC somehow.
And yeah, those guys are the ones who came up with ZipMagic. It was brilliant when first released, but stagnated never really keeping up to date with other file formats and Windows conventions.
Oh...and yeah, overall ExplorerPlus is way more limited than TC.
