Can no more Drag and drop from TC on the desktop

Post by *dmknds »

Win7 x64, SP1

Since the install of Windows6.1-KB4019990-x64.msu (security update) and Netframework4.7, i can no more drag an drop a file from TC on an icon of the desktop or on the desktop self or ALT+Drag on the desktop to make a shortucut!. The mouse icon turns into a forbidden sign as soon as she arrives on the desktop. But if i drag from TC directly in the window from an open program, it is OK (for example a .txt file in Notepad or a .psd in Photoshop).

If i do the same manipulations with Windows Explorer, there is no problem.

Help me please.

I suspect you're running TC as administrator. Don't do that for your normal work as it's neither required nor makes sense; and there are problems that arise, like this one.

I found the solution. I have run SFC /SCANNOW at the command prompt and now all is OK.
SFC.EXE is the files system repair tool from Microsoft.

I never had a problem when running TC as administrator but in my administrator accound, i have put the cursor to the lower level.
