Is it possible to assign a hotkey to a button on a TC icons bar?

Yes and No.
You can assign hotkeys to cm_commands or your own defined em_commands.
This way you don't have a hotkey on the button but for the command used in the button.
This may make a button unnecessary if you prefer using the keyboard only.
