Environment: TC 9.50 (32-bit); Windows 8.1 Enterprise (32-bit) or Windows 10 Pro 1909 (32-bit)

Important: the problem exists on VirtualBox 6.1.2 Windows (32-bit ONLY) guest machines

TC 9.50 (32-bit) on the guest machines was installed from the disk C: on the guest.
TC 9.50 (64-bit) on the host machine (Windows 10 Pro 1909, 64-bit) was installed from the path E:\Software\Total Commander 9.50\Download & Installation\tcmd950x64.exe

I don't understand, why the error on the guest machine is referenced to the path E:\Software\Total Commander 9.50\Download & Installation\tcmd950x64.exe

This means that for some unknown reasons, the Microsoft common controls dll is missing.

Is this a Windows Host, Windows Guest, VirtualBox or Total Commander problem?
What can I do to prevent these errors in the event viewer?

By the way, the event 33 appears every time I open TC.

Important: I do not have this problem with TC 9.22a.

This may be fixed with installing the missing Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Packages
into the Windows guest.

That's not it. Common controls library is not a part of MSVC redistribution packages. Besides, the 32-bit OS refers to a 64-bit application which does not even exist inside that OS.

1. How exactly did you install the guest OS?
2. Do you have the disk E: at all in your guest OS?
3. Is the problem reproduced if you run TC with an empty INI file?
4. How do you start TC - via the Start menu shortcut? Will the same happen if you just open Explorer, navigate to the TC installation location and double-click the TOTALCMD.EXE file?

I think I found the root cause of my problem. When I run TC (32-bit) on the guest machine, the active tab (directory) in the right panel is
E:\Software\Total Commander 9.50\Download & Installation\
This directory has both tcmd950x32.exe and tcmd950x64.exe.

When I select another directory on the active tab in the right panel and restart the TC, the Event 33 is absent.
For example, folder E:\Software\Google Chrome 80.0.3987.106\Download & Installation\ that has both 32-bit and 64-bit installer EXE-files.

Please note that Disk E: on the guest machine is the VirtualBox shared folder, and it is connected to the Local Disk E: on the host.

But I still don't understand what changes in TC 9.50 (vs TC 9.22a) affect this behavior.

Thanks for your question about the wincmd.ini file. This helped me at least resolve the "mystery" of the problem.

Unfortunately, I cannot reproduce this behavior in Win7 32-bit. No matter, whether tcmd950x64.exe is present in the path opened in TC by default, or not, I don't get that error in the event log.
