blank button bar without icon

Do it is possible to not assign a icon to items in button bar?
I see that get I get the purpose if is set i wrong path but is there a more correct way?

Just make an icon file with a blank (transparent) icon and use that.

I use the * sign in the "Icon file:" field for such purpose, however it works only if something is also typed in a "Command:" field.
