New Tabs..and open with folders

Post by *scorpion69 »

I searched but could not find specific answers...

- How do I create NEW tabs in each Window?

- How do I get TC to OPEN with SPECIFIED FOLDERS in each window?

I have tried to do it and saved configuration/settings but it just does not seem to work?

Any help would be appreceated....

Thanks in advanced......

- How do I create NEW tabs in each Window?
1. Make sure the option "Configuration" -> "Options..." -> "Layout" -> "Screen layout" -> "Show folder tabs" is enabled.
2. To open a new tab:
  • Press Ctrl+T for New Folder Tab .
  • Press Shift+Ctrl+T for New Folder Tab in Background.
  • Press Ctrl+Up for Directory Under Cursor in New Tab.
  • Press Shift+Ctrl+Up for Directory Under Cursor in New Tab in Opposite Panel.
  • If you already have a tab open you can right click on a tab to get a menu for possible tab actions.
3. in "Configuration" -> "Options..." -> "Folder Tabs" you can choose to "Show tab headers also if there is only one tab".

5. To close tabs:
  • Middle-click (wheel) on the tab.
  • Press Ctrl+W to close Active Tab.
  • Press Shift+Ctrl+W to close All Tabs.
You can find much more about Folder tabs in the Help - section 3 m: Folder tabs.

- How do I get TC to OPEN with SPECIFIED FOLDERS in each window?
1. Disable the option "Configuration" -> "Options..." -> "Operation" -> "Save on exit" -> "Directories".
2. Open the tabs with the conten t you want in both panels.
3. Choose "Configuration" -> "Save Settings".
Now TC will start with the same folders each time.

If you also want other settings for the file panels to be the same every time you open TC then disable the option "Configuration" -> "Options..." -> "Operation" -> "Save on exit" -> "Panels (bried/full, etc.)".
