eliio wrote: 2020-09-09, 08:12 UTC It appears that it can be the bug in the unicode version of the plugin (I haven't tested ANSI version yet), and according to the other replies here the combination of OS and the bitness of TC (and the plugin).
I just verified that indeed the 32-bit Unicode version of the MMedia plugin crashes with an access error message. The 32-bit ANSI version works fine, so do both the 64-bit Unicode and ANSI versions. Why do you use TC 32-bit on a 64-bit Windows, anyways?

I've checked the 64-bit availability of my plugins here and found that almost all of them have 64-bit versions. Except SGViewer, but I'm using it most often, it's fast and comfortable for me. Also I like to use TC Plugman and Ultra TC Editors.
Can you tell me is it possible to use them on x64 TC? If it is I'm ready to advance with a light heart.

Both SGViewer and Ultra TC Editors are available in 64-bit flavor, while TC Plugman is available only in 32-bit. Its development has been discontinued since many years.

Many more plugins can be obtained from Totalcmd.net, offering both 32/64-bit versions when available. Yet at the time of this post the page is unfortunately down since a couple of days, though usually the service returns soon after. So just be patient and check these links once in a while.

EDIT: Totalcmd.net just became accessible again this very moment!

I doubt that. Ultra TC Editors is available as 32-bit only and requires the VB6 runtime which only exists in 32-bit variant. However, since it's not a TC plugin but a separate tool it will run on a 64-bit system, and probably also work with TC 64-bit, as long as this runtime is present (and working).

Sorry for offtopic.

They can both be used with TC x64 (I know, because I do use both) - they are not plugins, but separate programs, so the bitness of TC is of no importance.

@Dalai @petermad

Thank you both for your input.

Except for MMedia I do not use any of the discussed programs. At the time of my post Totalcmd.net was offline, so I derived the plugin page links and info from Googles cache. The pages for SGViewer and Ultra TC Editors show "Download (x32, x64)", therefor I figured each of them to be a plugin available both in 32 and 64 bit.

Like petermad pointed out, for standalone programs the bitness (of TC and the program) is of no importance.

Oh, suddenly the carriage turned into a pumpkin :)
Not SVGView but SGViewer (btw, I have them both), you wrote "SGViewer" but provide a link to SVGView.
SGViewer is an image viewer while SVGView is only an svg viewer.
So I'm back in x32 :)

The PhotoViewer plugin https://totalcmd.net/plugring/photoviewer.html is supposed to be the 64bit replacement for SGViewer.

Progman13 is the author of both plugins. PhotoViewer is available in both 32bit and 64bit versions.

I'm sorry about the mix-up. I was about to recommend Photo Viewer as a successor, but petermad already did that (Thanks, Peter).

For viewing images I strongly recommend Imagine, which is much faster than SG Viewer and Photo Viewer and supports a broader range of image formats. Note that the latest version of Imagine is available only the plugin homepage.

I've got the same error on Windows 7 64bit after uninstalling Windows Media Player. Mmedia plugin requires Windows Media Player to be installed.

When I list video for Ctrl + Q, the player's interface appears on the panels, the inscription "connection", and TC crashes
With sound files all good.

Win10, TC9.5, mmedia 2.6.2.1

I tried a lot of combinations: without / with K-lite, only LAV-filters, many tuning LAV-filters.

Video play in the WMplayer without any problems.
One option, if the video is seen through the peer-view - interface 0.

The problem happened when I switching to a new laptop, perhaps, it depends on hardware (Xeon, 2 videoadapters)?

sorry my english

several reasons:
- Codecs installed (or supported by Mmedia)
- name of file too long
- configuration of mmedia info---- player interface (on win10 must be set to WmediaPlayer 7.0+)
editing mmedia.ini --(Options) interface =3
don't know other reason...

Hi, I'm having trouble making Mmedia play these formats: flv, mp4, mkv.. I have the latest unicode plugin version on Windows 10. What are my options:

1) Do I need a certain codec? (installing FFDShow didn't work)
2) Do I need to change something in the mmedia.ini? (adding all extensions with "MMEXT=" in mmedia.ini didn't work)

Thank you.
