Keep file-sizes up to date

I work with large numbers of files in many directories, across fixed and external hard drives.
Very often, I need to check the total size of the main directoeries, which costs a lot of time. (Can take up to 15 min to just show the size of a directory.)

Is there a way (in Win10 / TC) to somehow keep the file sizes somewhere up to date and available, so they don't need to be counted every time and show faster?

EveryThing should help you in this task. You can also use it to get size inside TC Preferences/Configuration/Operation
in Calculate space occupied ... tab,
tick Everything

It is much faster than just using TC to do calculation by itself.
