TZST format extraction? (for hosting software Plesk backup files)

Post by *sarumbear »

Hi

The hosting software Plesk started to backup files using TZST format. Is there a way to open/extract those files?

https://fileinfo.com/extension/tzst#:~:text=What%20is%20a%20TZST%20file,of%20the%20compound%20extension%20tar.

Thank you

This plugin could work: https://totalcmd.net/plugring/zstdwcx.html. It should be possible to open the outer .tar archive with Ctrl+PageDown, then the inner archive is handled by the linked plugin.

Thank you. However, neither of the download links work on an https connection. Chrome simply does nothing but Edge reports the issue. Is that normal?

Copy the mirror download link to clipboard, paste it into your browser's address bar, change the protocol to https, then press Enter and it should work. I.e. you should get this link: https://wincmd.ru/files/9924352/mirror/wcx_zstdwcx_1.1.3.5.zip

Browser that do this are annoying. A warning about the "insecure" connection is OK, but blocking it entirely and thus deciding what a user can do/see/download? That's patronizing IMO.

Both download links (main and mirror) on the zstd plugin site I linked to are http. So the interjection is justified. Still doesn't change the fact that it's annoying when browsers do this.

Both links from you above are working fine here with Firefox.
Using Edge the Totalcmd link works directly and for the other link I can approve the download.
A browser warning which can be overruled is ok for me.
