[ISSUE] TC 10.50 text search using the everything works incorrectly
In the new tc version text search using the everything tool not find all results. I attached two screenshots for search results with and aithout everything. This problem appeared for me after updating to the v10.50.
As you can see with the everything it found 2 files, without - 3 files.
I don't know where to post issues, so posted it here.

Re: [ISSUE] TC 10.50 text search using the everything works incorrectly
Everything does not search for content in this way.
TC only gets the file names from Everything and searches as usual.
It makes no sense that you didn't specifiy any file names.
If you want to search for content you have to use the ed: or ev: prefixes
and the relevant Everything syntax, depending of your Everything config.

Hi,
Try this...
Search for:
[x] Everything
Search in: Leave it empty.
Find text: Please uncheck this option.
Everything 1.5.0.1315a (x64) - Everything Options: Content
[x] Index file content
Include only folders: D:\
... Include only files: *.js;txt;...
What's the search result here?
Which versions do you have?
- TC 10.50 final
- TC 10.50 silent update
- Everything

I tried "ev: d:\projects\viche\viche\lib content:usersCache" - it works as expected, found 3 files.
So the problem is in tc and everything integration.
I have:
tc 10.50
windows11 x64
everything 1.4.1.1017
I tried "ev: d:\projects\viche\viche\lib content:usersCache" - it works as expected, found 3 files.

Thank you, I expected this result.
But in my opinion the search results should be identical, no matter if 'Everything' is checked or not.

Search queries in TC using 'Everything' (1. ed:, 2: ev:) wrote:If 'Everything' is checked - without the prefix ev: - then the search criteria of TC (with the support of 'Everything') apply,
i.e. you still get the search result much faster than if 'Everything' is not checked.

So, this is the issue or not?
How to make Christian Ghisler know about it?

The author reads all posts...
Maybe you could still download the "silent update" version (64-bit+32-bit combined download) from 8.7. and try out?

Ahh, yes.
I just updated tc and it works now.
Christian added fixes but didn't incremented version, this confused me/

Re: [ISSUE] TC 10.50 text search using the everything works incorrectly
Ok, so I updated to the silent update 2022-07-07 but this issue is still present in some cases.
Test case is the same as above but for other directory.
It requires fix.
Tell me if you need more info.

Please give a concrete example again so that this can be recreated by the author or a user.

I have tried to recreate an example - according to your pictures:
- I used the same folder structure -> D:\projects\viche\viche\lib\telebot\cache\
- Instead of *.js files I used *.txt files
- In the search query I have chosen "D:\projects\viche\viche\lib\" as start directory
If I check or uncheck 'Everything', in the file content search I get in all cases the same search result.
Thus, an error of this type does not occur in my case.

Another test with file type ".js" and encodings "ANSI" (mainly) and "UTF-8 no BOM" ([=encinfo.Type], [=encinfo.Encoding])
also showed in a text search in Total Commander that the search results were identical, namely
regardless of whether "Everything" was checked or unchecked.
Again, I couldn't find any error here.
So for me I consider this topic closed.
