F6 shortcut key wrong behavior

Hello,
The F6 key should move the chosen files between the 2 panels but instead, it highlights all the files in the source panel,
When I check its configuration it seems fine: cm_MoveOnly 1005 Move (F6)
But still, pressing on F6 highlights all the files in the panel, probably it is some simple configuration that was changed that I miss.
Anyone can help to fix this?

Click on the button with an arrow down [v].
Does that open a list of remapped shortcuts - and if so, is F6 on the list?
If F6 is in the list click on it, and then click on the button with the red x [X] to reset the function of F6 to the default.

I use a desktop, NumLock on/off doesn't change this behavior

Then it is not your TC configuration that is wrong, but some other program might be stealing the F6 key input - this is most often programs for the graphic card, setting global shortcuts.

Also, why do you have an Alias set for cm_MoveOnly ? Not that it should prevent cm_MoveOnly from functioning with it's default key. But since you have the Alias - does the Move dialog open when you type the two letters f6 in the command line and press enter?

"Alias" from the Alias-section are used in TCs command line at the bottom, there typing f6 plus <enter> should execute the command.


If you chose F6 at the "Hotkey"-section, you should see ""Default command (no remapping)""
From menu "HELP > Keyboard" you can read "F6" is for "Rename or move files"
In "TOTALCMD.INC" we see the default command for "F6" is cm_MoveOnly=1005;Move (F6)



If F6 doesn't work for you, we can re-assign it to cm_MoveOnly


First check "Graphic card nVidia GeForce shortcut keyboard"

If still not solved, try "configuration -> Options -> Misc."
- at Hotkey chose "F6"
- at Command, if not already reads "Default command (no remapping)", browse for cm_MoveOnly
- be sure to click next at the green check mark-button before closing the config dialog

As result you should have a new line in wincmd.ini
[Shortcuts]
F6=cm_MoveOnly

You may also remove that line again to go back to the internal default > "Default command (no remapping)" with cm_MoveOnly for F6

Don't know why there is an alias for that, don't remember if I set it (I didn't know the use of alias till now..), anyway I checked it and yes at least it works well as alias..

I dont have nVidia GeForce Graphic card but a basic onboard Microsoft card.
The F6 didn't have a special mapping (it wrote: "Default command (no remapping)") but still I set it to cm_MoveOnly, verified wincmd.ini includes now F6=cm_MoveOnly under [Shortcuts], but still, the result stays the same: F6 highlight all files instead of doing the move cmd.

Thanks for the links, I installed one of them (the second one) and it didn't find any shortcut keys at all...

Shortcut Key Explorer shows shortcuts which are set in Windows shortcut (.lnk) files located on the Windows Desktop, the Windows Start Menu (and maybe the Quick Launch). It doesn't help in finding hotkeys that are registered by any other program. IMO the program should be removed from this list.
