Wrong extensions in Recycle Bin

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

Wrong extensions in Recycle Bin

Post by *Botan626 »

e.g. the file is "AUDCHF 2023.05.22 11 10 M10.png", TC shows "22 11 10 M10" as extension

Well this is the real filename as stored at the file system!
Looking through Windows Explorer eyes shows the former used filename before deletion, which is retrieved from a kind of "database".
You may have the same view using decRecycleBinWDX plugin.

Just disable "Hide extensions for known file types" on EXPLORER!

NO BUG!

This is NOT real name - it is the explorer (=Windows system) that is responsible for hiding the extension.

I added this plugin in Content Plugins, what's next? How to make it work, which folder to open?

To use decRecycleBinWDX plugin you have to create a custom colums view:
  1. Do a right mouseclick on column header (e.g. Name) and select "Configure custom columns"
  2. Click on "New", give it a name and click on [Add column]
  3. Next click on [+] at the very right.
  4. Select plugin decRecycleBinWDX and "Original Name" of properties
You may add more columns ...
A final click on [OK] will show the custom column.

At future use just select the according entry by right mouseclick on column header.
