Strange decision. Setting the cursor to [none] cannot be called a deletion. The user doesn't expect such behavior, he is waiting for deletion. He thinks that after clicking the button, the association will immediately disappear, but this doesn't happen. After selecting another extension, a dialog pops up with the question "The association for the extension . was changed. Save?". Why this waste of time?
Also, I believe that the Delete button should be deactivated when the extension field is empty.

I don't want to delete the association immediately in case the user clicks on the button by mistake. The alternative would be to show a confirmation dialog each time, which would also be inconvenient.
