Searching in MP3Tag
Is it possible to read the mp3tag and then move the found mp3s with the searched album name to another folder?
I normally search for the specific artist via "search" and would like to be able to do that via the TAG.
Who can help me and also with how to install

Re: Searching in MP3Tag
Yes, you can use the multi-rename tool for that (Ctrl+M). Replace the rename mask [N] by the following:
[=tc.Album]\[N]
[=tc.Album]\[N]

Thanks for the answer, but I will not rename the number, I will see which numbers have a certain album
Re: Searching in MP3Tag
Ghisler's suggestion doesn't rename the files, but moves them to a subfolder with the album's name.Koosr46 wrote: 2025-05-26, 14:25 UTC Thanks for the answer, but I will not rename the number, I will see which numbers have a certain album
If that is not helpful in your case, you can use search. Search has a plugin tab you can use to search for a certain album. The search results can be fed to the main panel where you can move the found files to another folder.
Re: Searching in MP3Tag
I think I am not understood.
I have a folder with thousands of mp3s and if I want to know if I have a certain number, I do that via "search" under "Command".
The album is in the TAG and that is shown in certain MP3Tag programs.
My question now is whether I can search for the name of a certain album via Total Commander.
So I would like to know which numbers I have from that particular album.

You are right. So you want to search for a number in the tag. I don't know, perhaps with plugin anytag.wdx.

The content plugin anytag.wdx is listed on your website as 32-bit, but it's currently 32-bit and 64-bit.
Re: Searching in MP3Tag
Thank you very much for your help and it is now in the ‘plugins’ folder, but I don't know how to use it, I configured it through the manual, but I don't see it anywhere.
I feel a bit stupid, but when you're almost 80, everything diminishes a bit.
So I want to search on ‘I'm looking for you’ in the ‘album’ column

Normally you would not need a plugin to search on Album. You could do it like on this screenshot.
By the way, I'm not sure where you have an Album column, in Total Commander, or in your MP3Tag program?
If you have an Album column in Total Commander you could sort on the column by clicking on the header above the column. That would also make them easier to find. A custom column mode can be created by right-clicking the header above a column and as shown in this screenshot.
And Ghisler's suggestion was about moving files to subfolders, where all files belonging to an Album end up in an Album subfolder. You could select all files, open the Multi-Rename Tool, and move all files to subfolders by using the filename mask shown in this screenshot.
Hope this helps.
Re: Searching in MP3Tag
Once again, many thanks for your help.
I don't know exactly what you mean by the difference where "ALBUM" is found in TC or in my TAG program.
I use MP3TAG for all music to fill the "ALBUM" field and then they go to my collection.
So it's a big box of music where I can only see the title and the artist in TC.
I did what your screenshot showed me, only I had to change TC to ANYTAG, but it took a long time to go through a few thousand records, I did get the desired result.
Since you say I also see "ALBUM" in TC, is there another way?

Re: Searching in MP3Tag
Hello,
I have a Music album with ~1550 Tracks:
https://imgur.com/onjjPg3
and there I can configure some Plugins by a right-click on a column:
https://imgur.com/IxGyb6H
On the next window, you can add these columns:

https://imgur.com/CVrjcMv
From this point you have a column from where you can sort tracks by their album and from this point you can away to take the Search alt+F7.
