WiseTracker warning

Post by *Sam_Zen »

Although I have the ModPlug Player available for this, I downloaded the WiseTracker F3-plugin to
quickly listen to a mod or xm file. This went out to be a disaster.
Unpacking, I noticed a wlx-file but also a install.exe. So I first did the second one,
It produced an unreadable installation-pane in a non-system language. Because I don't like
clicking on nondescript things, I cancelled it, and chose to place all the files in their proper
wlx-subdirectory of TC, added the wlx-file with the plugin-manager, but this didn't work.
So I went back to the install option and activated blindly the left button.
Some things went terribly wrong (running 2K).
Not only that a window popped up with a read-error message, but
this kept going on and on, each time producing a new error-window in some loop.
I was forced to shut down the power to stop this process...

Yes, I had problems with this plugin too. But I thought it was Win98SE's fault.

You should try to contact the author of the plugin though i never got a reply on my report on Totalcmd.net. It's buggy as hell and things got worse with latest update (which is now rather long ago). Probably further development was ceased. Hmmm...
