How many maximum packer plugins?

Post by *ByteNick »

Hi!

I am currently updating my TC, installing and verifying all the plugins I have found around.

Strange behavior though: it seems that there is a maximum number of extensions to add in the [Packer Plugins] section.

Is that true, or is soemthing wrong with my config? FYI, it stopped at 124 extensions (pretty round number some may say).

Thanks for the attention.

I see no practical reason to think about such a limit.
No one can seriously need this number of packer extensions.

I think I DO have this limit.
On the other hand, you can easily reach the above figure. Let me give you two examples on packer plugins with a lot more than just one extension:

1. Game Archive UnPacker, a.k.a. GAUP.wcx, around 45 extensions
2. Imagine.wcx, around 45 extensions as well.

See my point?

Thanks.

Since when is imagine a packer-plugin ?
AFAIK its a Lister-plugin (at least the version I use) and you dont have to
enter all picture extensions as lister decides byitselt if picture or not...

Imagine contains a packer plugin as well... Your version must be rather outdated.

@ByteNick:
You don't need to assign Imagine to all extensions it can support, just use ONE dummy extension like .*Imagine and adjust the ending in the packer dialog or alternatively assign it ONLY to the extensions you want to convert to regularly. You can open all supported archives with Ctrl-PageDown nevertheless.

The same is true for the game unpacker plugin. It cannot even create archives so what's the point in assigning real extensions? Use a dummy like .*GAUP as well.
