Well finaly I've found that my wincmd.ini has a version in the windows directory and one in the TC directory, but it is the windows directory which has the packer plugin associations I wanted to delete.

How come's that there are two wincmd.ini files?

Go to Configuration -> Options -> Plugins -> Packer Plugins -> and press Configure
Choose the extension from the list and then associated plugin will appear in the edit box.
Select it and delete and press Ok.

If you want to do it manually via wincmd.ini check in Help -> About TC where is your config file located.

Two wincmd.ini files could appear if you for example installed TC 2 or times and each time you select different config location.

My ini files are in the windows directory.
Do you know how to change these .INI files back to the TC directory?

When you install Totalcmd you will be asked where to place the ini-files. The location that you select is saved in registry under
HKEY_CURRENT_USER~ or HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Ghisler\Total Commander\
depending if you choose the location for all users or only for the current one.

When TC starts it will look for the location in the registry. If there is no value found it will use the windows directory instead to create a new wincmd.ini (or use a still existing one there).

So if you have choosen a custom dir for the ini files (e.g. C:\program files\Totalcmd\ini\ )and reinstall your windows and do not reinstall TC, it will look at it's first start at registry for the ini-dir. And there is nothing found, so it will create a new wincmd.ini in the windows dir and never know about your ini in the program dir.

It is not found always in windows directory. It's created in the TC-Ini directory, wherever it is. There are possibly two other files, too: FSplugin.ini and pkplugin.ini.
These files are created from some plugins that use them. And they are created when you install the plugins (or maybe when you use them first time).
