copy files from FTP-server to FTP-server

Hello,

I often need to copy files from FTP-server 1 (left panel) to FTP-server 2 (right panel).
Until now I copy the files from FTP-server 1 to a temp folder on my own HD and then copy the files from the temp folder to FTP-server 2.
Is it possible to do this in 1 run?

what you mean its´s called fxp.

it seems that most servers doesn´t support fxp. it have to be configurated for each ftp-server.

does it work with an different programm? (for example flasfxp?)

Simply connect to the two servers, so you see their file listings in the two file windows. Then select the file(s) to be copied, and press F5. Please note that remote copy is NOT supported by all servers, and it may also fail through a firewall. The left server will receive PORT commands, the right one PASV commands. Therefore if one server is in a private network or behind a firewall, and the other is public, put the private server in the LEFT window.

If the servers don't support it, why doesn't TC make it transparent for you? So, if you are connected to 2 FTP-servers (left and right panel) and you would like to copy a file from server 1 to server 2. why doesn't TC copy the file to a folder on the local pc and then copy it to FTP-server 2?

- Anyway, that should result in a simpler handle for the user, so I support that idea !

Petty long? Don't matter, if you want to make copy, you have to do it that way. What's more, you need to copy bigger amount of data from one ftp server to another, possibly you cannot do it in once, but copy a few files to local, then copy it to another FTP server, delete local copy (you cannot move files to FTP server) and continue with another bunch.

Yes, we know that downloading the files to the local PC and uploading it to the destination remote ftp server is slow, and if the process fails during the upload we can lose a lot of time.
But if the ftp servers do not support remote copy, this is the only way.
In this case we must download the files to a temporary local directory and upload them to the destination.
What we are asking is a way to do this process in automatic when the remote copy fails and this is the only way to do this task.

So I hope you reconsider the idea to implement this functionality to simplify the manual procedure.
