I find this feature a complete waste of time and resources.

But perhaps it could be useful as a debug tool for plugin writers ?

Agree. I repeat - I don't insist. Anyway, it's happening very rarely (I hope it was the first and the last time for me ).

Even if I could en/disable the feature it would still take some bytes of my hdd (not many - probably a couple of KB's).
