I find this feature a complete waste of time and resources.

But perhaps it could be useful as a debug tool for plugin writers ?

Harddisk performance.
Memory usage.
Development resources (there must be other stuff that comes before a log).

Even if I could en/disable the feature it would still take some bytes of my hdd (not many - probably a couple of KB's). :D :lol: :P

I would like this feature too, as long as there was an option to turn it on and off.
