[REQ] Enhance case change in MultiRenameTool

Post by *StickyNomad »

I often want to change the case of the first appearing letter in a filename to uppercase,
e.g. '01 - un sandpiper.mp3' -> '01 - Un sandpiper.mp3'

AFAIK at the moment the easiest way to achieve this is entering '[N1-2] - [UN6][LN7-]' in MRT's Filename rename mask. When you try to simply choose "First letter uppercase", the filename remains unchanged, because TC apparently strictly changes the case of the very first character and if it is a number or special character, no change is made at all.

So my suggestion is to teach TC that when using the "First letter uppercase"-option to ignore non-letters and change the case of the first appearing real letter of the filename.

This is no big issue, as the above mentioned rename mask-option can be saved and re-used when needed, but you have to adjust the rename mask when the number of the appearing non-letters differs. So IMHO the current behaviour of MRT's "First letter uppercase"-option is a bit inconsistent because its useless when the filename begins with a non-letter character.

I have another suggestions to MultiRename tool:

- instead of heaving separate button for reload results (F5) it's better to heave button "Rename & Reload" (Rename instead Start).

- already mentioned counter reset on different directory

- complete interface redesign
We are not doing this just for the money.
We are doing it for sh*t load of money.
