Don't quite get it...(?)When filename in rename box is deleted restore the original filename on-the-fly and mark it again for another try.
Additional ini-setting:
OnClickRename=1/0
Anyone?

Ahh, you mean AssumeClickInFileWindowSimulatesEnterPressedAndThusFilenameChangeConfirmed=1 ... thanks.OnClickRename=1 in wincmd.ini allows renaming just like in Explorer, clicking anywhere in the panel confirms rename.
Actually, I use the keyboard for everything possible, but some things are just faster with a mouse, like dragging a file and copying/moving/extracting or just right clicking and selecting "Add to '<name>.rar'" (packing) or going back and forward when you are using your mouse wheel to search for a file (you can setup mouse gestures for programs with StrokeIt).pdavit wrote: And sure the best approach is to use both simultaneously which is the method I'm using but the whole argument started because someone thought pressing Enter is slower than just clicking outside the renaming area and I wanted to correct him.
You can't firgive me that, huhicfu wrote:Someone even proposed to write batch files for each and every command contained in cmd shell so that there is no need for additional cmd /k in command line anymore so you never know...So in other words you have almost every single internal command with an icon on your TC to improve speed.

Actually I couldn't even remember who proposed that, I have discussed and read about this fuckin cmd /k in so much threads now that I really have no idea who saiud what, when and why.You can't firgive me that, huh
Why should I explain that? It was neither me who said that it would make sense nor does it make sense to discuss about single commands. I told you that supporting all commands is the best way anyway.furthermore you have not explained what for would anybody need to execute command "goto" or "shift" in TC command line?
When I rename with keyboard in left hand and mouse in right hand for scrolling it is. I have already explained that, no? I like working efficient, searching enter key sometimes sucks.Talking about pressing enter - it's just like typing another letter. Is this really inconvenient?
So why do people not hurt by a feature permanently try to convince me that doing it another way makes more sense? Just say "I don't need it but ok, if it helps you, i second it". Or just say nothing at all and let ghisler decide. If you need a feature I will surely NOT try to convince you that you don't need it if it doesn't hurt me, that's for sure.Such option "AssumeClickInFileWindowSimulatesEnterPressedAndThusFilenameChangeConfirmed=1" will not hurt me
