FTP - Forced passive connection with SSL

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

When connecting to FTP server using SSL and use passive connection is disabed in location configuration and also in global TC configuration, passive connection is always used. Is this bug or feature?

RAM: 6GB
GFX: nVidia Quadro FX580

Hi,

IIRC, ghisler somewhere told "TC uses passive mode when an active connection could not be established.". You should take a look at the FTP log (or post it here) to see what is actually happening. Maybe you could also try another FTP client to see if it behaves the same.

No, PORT mode is definitely supported also via SSL. However, it will not work when there is a NAT (network address translation) router in between: Because the ftp control connection is encrypted, the router cannot see the PORT commands!
