[REQ] Move horizontal scrollbar with Ctrl+Home/End...

Ctrl+Home should show the start of document with horizontal scollbar moved to the left.
Ctrl+End should show the end of the document with horizontal scrollbar moved to the right.

This should be realized in Lister and File Compare.

I would rather suggest Shift+Home/End instead. Reasons:
1. Ctrl+Home/End is too usual for scrolling to home/end, so I sometimes use them even when no cursor is shown.
2. Shift+mouse wheel is already being used for horizontal scrolling - it would seem logical to use the same modifier for it in case of Home/End.

I don't think the cursor has anything to do with the fact that Ctrl jumps and Shift selects in the 1846 programs I've seen.

Please, example of a program with no cursor which jumps on Ctrl and selects on Shift... I don't remember any, and this explains if the cursor has anything to do with it.

roentgen just wants to show that it is not logical to use a different modifier for the same function depending on if the cursor is on or off, when the same modifier can be used. You do not jump to the previous dir using Ctrl-Left when you are in Thumbnail view, either.

Shift+Home/End in Command Browser in TC.

But I'm sorry, I have read the icfu's request inattentively and decided that he suggests to jump to the Home/End of the current line, not of the current document. So I withdraw my remark about using Shift instead, in this case it is illogical, I agree.

Maybe you have misunderstood the request?

The request is not to ONLY move the horizonzal scrollbar with Ctrl+Home/End but to jump to the very beginning and the very end of a document INCLUDING a move of the horizonzal scrollbar, just like in cursor-on mode. At least your point 1. is exactly why I have proposed it, because it's the usual shortcut in cursor-on mode...

So, if you want to suggest Shift+Home/End for ONLY moving the horizontal scrollbar, without scrolling vertically to the beginning/end, this sounds perfectly ok.

I don't need this feature very much, I suggested it just as an alternative for moving by Ctrl+Home/End to the start/end of the line, which would be inconvenient for me. But as you requested another feature, my suggestion is no longer valid.
