Club Total goes PHP

I have replaced the Club Total site with the PHP version.

Pointers:
[1] I have removed all 'extra features' to increase the page generation speed of the site, until I have time to optimize the code. But it could be the server is just slow, but that's what you get with free hosting....

[2] The old HTML site still exists ( see link in club total menu or use http://clubtotal.free.fr/index-old.html ). This until all files have been transfered to the new databse.

[3] Please start using the 'submit news' and 'submit downloads' to add stuff to the site. If you register and login before you submit, then your name will be added to your post (otherwise it will be posted as 'anonymous'). All posts will be approved by a moderator (for now: myself and Hacker) before being added.

[4] Registration is NOT NEEDED to download or view any section of the site. Benefits are: (1) having your name with a submission (see [3]) and being able to post comments to articles, poll and downloads...

[5] Please post any comments, idea's or bugs here (or email me).

Is there a way to upload files to your server?

I tried to add uploads feature but I counldn't get it working. I think it has to do with directory permissions and the server doesn't allow met to change them (CHMOD disabled).

But nearly all files can be linked to the server of the author. If plugin authors don't have webspace, then just email me the plugin and I will upload it myself.

Re. page generation time, try putting a counter of sql calls with your generation time at the bottom of the pages to find what may be causing it. But I agree on your point that you probably never will get too good performance on a freehost. No CHMOD - tough rules. That does indeed mean no file upload.

But I really like the new look! Lighter, cooler.

I'm getting a lot of time-outs loading the page so I guess the sever is having some troubles. Hopefully somebody at free.fr will press the 'reset' button

The new design is really stylish and as soon as the whole old content is filled in, it will be outstanding .

Smal suggestion: why not always reflecting the pluginversion in the download-filename - would really help!

To be honest, I did not exactly remember were I got the Total Commander Icon from but I think this has become clear now. So of course a big thank you for your masterpiece and for letting me use it on Club Total (I hope )
