ALT+X, chit-chat, forum rules

Post by *white »

By accident I hit ALT and X..
I did not know that shortcut could be used to exit the program. Nor could I find this shortcut documented anywhere. Or is it?

(I don't use a customized menu)

Does it? I have my Alt-key mapped to enable the 'type to find directory' function, so it doesn't close my window..

I've never thought about it but I use Alt+X by default to quit TC. I haven't changed any key mapping (shortcuts)

It's actually not documented, but I guess the roots are in the old Norton Commander (for DOS) and others... If you have played long enough with DOS, you should be used to hitting Ctrl+Q, Ctrl+X, Alt+X and similar to exit the program 8)

First check the language file you use, you'll find a lot of other interesting things there...[/face]

I use his language file and your extended menu file (slightly modified). You haven't released an english language file, have you? (Or did I miss it somewhere?)

Ctrl ?! :P

or do you mean the bottom row of command buttons in TC? I rarely use these buttons actually, much more comfortable with the keyboard shortcuts...

No I haven't; I somehow don't wanna go down that road... sorry!

Of course I know because "Alt+X Quit" instead of "Alt+F4 Exit" is one of it's "trademarks". So if interDist doesn't use it to, he can decide that you have hallucinations... %)[/face]
