Change Directory menu / FS-plugin delay

I have noticed that there is a delay when I use the change directory menu to access a path in my FS-plugin. The delay is never there when I execute a command from the command line.

command: cd \\\Xboxes\ekit\e

Steps to reproduce:
1 Add a diretory in a FS-Plugin to the Change Directory menu
2 Double click on the directory indicator to get the Change Directory menu up
3 Click on the directory you added to your FS-Plugin path
4 There will be a three second delay before you get control back to the program
5 If you click do step 3 at once there will be no delay, but if you wait five seconds between attempts there will be a delay every time

Update:
This is reproducable with the sample plugin (mirrors local file system)

Confirmed. I noticed a delay sometimes when using the registry plugin.
