TC 6.0 does not seem to set registry correctly on XP Home

Post by *wlamia »

I installed 6.0 on a new laptop that came with Home XP, and specified that user-specific INI files should be used. However, it seems that the registry is not correctly set for all users. I can fix it by manually executing the following .reg file while logged in as EACH USER, but I think this is an oversight in 6.0. Could it be fixed in 6.01?

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Ghisler]

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Ghisler\Total Commander]
"InstallDir"="c:\\wincmd"
"IniFileName"="%USERPROFILE%\\wincmd.ini"
"FtpIniName"="%USERPROFILE%\\wcx_ftp.ini"

You have to check "Set this location for all users on this computer" in the dialog during installation. An approciate LOCAL_MACHINE entry will be created.

Another way is to create/modify a link containing the following link target in the "all users" start menu:

"C:\wincmd\Totalcmd.exe" "/i=%USERPROFILE%\Wincmd.ini" "/f=%USERPROFILE%\wcx_ftp.ini"
