Please allow zero column-widths for name and extension

Post by *JohnFredC »

This repeats a request I made several years ago (along with an incomplete work-around) here.

For me, it is sometimes an inconvenience that the TC filename and TC extension columns cannot be moved or hidden. To get around this, I minimize them to a convenient width "by hand" when displaying certain custom column layouts, but TC always expands them back to a default size when reloading the column layout.

Failing the ability to move or hide those two columns...

Please consider allowing zero width for the filename and extension columns.

I would like to add a very small thing to this.
An internal [=tc.size.details]
Which would Display the size column as you have it configured for "Details/Full" mode.
If you choose kbytes for Size display in TabStops for example, TC appends a k to that.
To do the same thing with a custom column you need to choose:
---> "[=tc.size.kbytes] k"
Which means all of your folders will show up as "<DIR> k"
