[NOT A BUG] [x64] TortiseSVN overlay icons not working

Post by *daniloz »

Hi all,

Great to have TotalCommander running on 64-bit. I thought I would uninstall TortoiseSVN 32-bit and only keep the 64-bit version, because it should working with TotalCommander 8.0.

Indeed, it works and I don't have to go one extra menu layer (x64) to get to SVN commands. However, the icon overlay is not working.

(screeshot follows tomorrow due to forum rules)

Any ideas? Is it a bug? (or a feature? )

Cannot confirm. TC8x64 correctly displays overlay icons. I have both versions of TortoiseSVN installed. Have you set Show overlay icons?
TC plugins: Autodesk 3ds Max / Inventor / Revit Preview, FileInDir, ImageMetaData (JPG Comment/EXIF/IPTC/XMP), MATLAB MAT-file Viewer, Mover, SetFolderDate, Solid Edge Preview, Zip2Zero and more

1- Yes, I have set Show overlay icons

2- Here it also works with bot version installed (32- and 64-bit). I was just hoping that a 64-bit TotalCommander would work with only the 64-bit of TortoiseSVN installed. Is this really not the case? Any ideas why not?

Does the Explorer show them?
Maybe you should reinstall TortoiseSVN 64-bit after removing TortoiseSVN 32-bit.

You have a point there, Windows Explorer doesn't show them either. (so used to TotalCmd that I have forget that Windows has its own "explorer" ;-) )

I have already reinstalled TortoiseSVN 64-bit after removing the 32-bit version, but really reinstalled and not uninstalled. rebooted and installed again.

I'll try it, thanks for the hint.

I can confirm that by completely uninstalling TortoiseSVN 64-bit, rebooting and installing it again, it works perfectly fine with TotalCmd 8.0 64-bit.

I also confirm that I just need TortoiseSVN 64-bit in order to work, as expected.

So, sorry for the noise, I hope this can be some sort of guide for other users as well... :-)

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.
