How to combine flv files

Post by *Peter Kerekes »

I wanted to use the COMBINE FILES command for 9 parts of Youtube .flv files, but it doesn't appear to joint them. It show the correct total file size, but plays only the first part.
Any suggestions? thanks

It doesn't work this way, you need specialized tool for joining videos. TC's combine function simply takes the contens of the files byte by byte and joins them into one big file.

It works great for files previously split by TC or similar tool that simply chops the original file into pieces.

You can also get useable results for files that don't have any specific format. E.g. simple text files (but not Word documents and such).

Other files with specific format can't be joined this way. In most cases you end up with file which is not good for anything.

Combining is not a simple operation, since the headers are modified.
I use Andy's FLV Joiner. AFAIK, it can't be easily integrated into TC but the files can be dragged and dropped from TC into the joiner (once the program is opened).

Thank you for the advise. It is simple to use and worked fine.
I did combine a number of files.

I have another problem, wonder if you can help me, I made some files in VOB format on a DVD disc, to play on DVD player. Some worked, other did not. All play on the computer.
Can you advise?
Thanks anyway for the Andy's FLV joiner.
