Strange 'Spacebar' select behavior
When using Spacebar for consecutive multiple files selection, during the second press of Spacebar, instead of selecting the second file, TC hops one level up (i.e. out) from the current directory. After I return to the required directory and repeat the attempt, everything goes problem-free. No such behavior in stable version 7.56a was ever noticed.
I cannot reproduce this with neither TC 8.0b9 x64 under Win 7 nor with TC 8.0b9 32bit under neither Win 7 x64 nor Win XP 32bit.
I guess you must have manually set SpaceMovesDown=1 in you wincmd.ini - could you try with a clean wincmd.ini where SpaceMovesDown=1 is the only parameter in the [Configuration] section ?

It may sound eerie but now I cannot reproduce it myself either. I have been using wincmd.ini with my favorite settings for quite a long time. Yes, you're right, SpaceMovesDown=1 was done manually. But, after running across this strange behavior, I have edited my wincmd.ini by using TC Tweaker: first by removing the option checkmark and then reinstating it as before. Maybe this might have helped, who knows? But this behavior did exist, for I saw it enough times to get really annoyed by it and to write to this forum.petermad wrote:I cannot reproduce this with neither TC 8.0b9 x64 under Win 7 nor with TC 8.0b9 32bit under neither Win 7 x64 nor Win XP 32bit.

My language setting (for non-Unicode progs) is Russian, but I use x86 English WinXP SP3. Currently, I do not have any active right-to-left text input modules.Stance wrote:All jokes aside - what is your language setting?
Do your read from right to left, Arabic or Hebrew?
What Operating System are you using, is it x64?
5 minutes later: I tried it once again and, eureka!, it came back. As I said, this bug happens only once. Having opened my TC 8.0b9, I entered a folder containing 173 mp3 files and started selecting them by pressing Spacebar. After the second press of Spacebar I was thrown out the folder (i.e. one level up). When I repeated the operation, everything went okay.

Sorry, cannot reproduce. Are you able to reproduce it with a fresh wincmd.ini file?

You see, I cannot reproduce this TC behavior consistently (i.e. every time) even with my old win.ini. I'll try using any win.ini, for example, the one you could send me. See what happens then. But as of now this thing DOES happen. And it DID NOT happen with TC 7.x. BTW, this glitch happens not only with files, but with sub-directories too – when selecting several with Spacebar, on the second press I am pushed out of the current directory (containing the sub-directories to be selected) and now the current directory appears selected. That is, when I try selecting with Spacebar /dir/subdir1, /dir/subdir2, etc., instead of selected /dir/subdir2, I see selected /dir/.ghisler(Author) wrote:Sorry, cannot reproduce. As I said - make a wincmd.ini yourself with only this content:I'll try using any win.ini, for example, the one you could send me.
