TC and dead entries in file comments (*.ion files)
We all know how useful can be comments for files, and how
great it is that TC supports them. However recently I met
with such things: some people use TC to make comments, but
other people use standart Explorer and they remove many
files without updating *.ion files. As a rezult we have a
lot of dead entries in many *.ion files. It is not very
good, because sometimes we use *.ion files for printing the
commented contents of a particular directory.
Probably it would be very useful if TC could check *.ion
files and remove the entries which descibes no files.
BTW: Do you know, maybe somewhere such a program already
exists? In this case give me the URL, please.

Just shoot those peoplebut

I don't know, but you can use this workaround:Do you know, maybe somewhere such a program already
exists? In this case give me the URL, please.
Just move the files to an empty directory (on the same drive - to make it fast). Then delete the remaining descript.ion file in the original dir, and move all the files back.
But it should be easy to implement a function in TC to "clean up" the descript.ion files - so I support your suggestion.

Probably, your way is easier than script using and is the better solution for this task. You can choose a whole folder tree and move it. There is a small incovenience that you must keep in mind that "copy with comments" option must be turned on. It is often turned off, to allow TC to synchonize folders together with their *.ion files.petermad wrote: I don't know, but you can use this workaround:

As you can se it is my Compagny (I am writing this from work) that apparantly has a Web Reputation Filter, that blocks the page - so maybe there is a false virus alert out for the page.
