How can I change what runs when you press Win+E

Post by *fester13579 »

I have been searching here and on the web for a way to change the default action of pressing WIN+E. most "solutions" refer to using AutoHotkey and a slew of reg hacks that don't seem to work.

Without using any 3rd party utilities does anyone know of a way to open this explorer replacement when the user presses Win+E under win7 ?

Thanks.

Where is the problem: Win+T, Right, Right, Right, ..., Right, Enter.
Sounds like a problem that could easily be solved with AHK :lol:

Nobody got the hexa joke. :(

MaxX,

I do not think that makes it accessible using Win-E.

Would it work as expected, when Win+T is already reserved for setting the focus on the taskbar?

Not really sure I understand the question.

- 0x14(20)th position of the alphabet -> T
- Win+T as replacement for Win+E (wasn't that the joke?)
- You can't assign Win+T as shortcut for TC using he property page of TC, because every time you try to enter Win+T the focus is set to the task bar.
Maybe you can use AHK to use Win+T as shortcut, but not the explorer property page!

Hehe, no, since Win-1, Win-2 etc. can be used to start programs according to their pinned position on the taskbar, Win-E (hex) would be the 14th position. ;)
