Invisible folders after icon change in Win7x32

Post by *wallax »

I am using TC v.7.55 under Win7 Home Basic x32 bit. After I change a folder's color with the FolderIco app, I can not see it anymore in TC. If I turn on 'see all hidden files', then it is OK, if not, it stays invisible. The folder attribute 'hidden' is not checked, yet it is greyed out. It is visible in Windows Explorer though. Any suggestions as to how I can solve this problem?

I bet the folder has "system" attribute set.
(Just use TCs "Files - Change Attributes" to verify)

Thank you for your reply Sqa_Wizard! Right, the folder was both hidden and system. I unchecked the attributes, but now I have the default folder color, yellow, again! Is there a way around to keep the desired (non-default) color?

P.S. Sorry, the folder was NOT system and NOT hidden.

Try to set the "Read-only" attribute of the folder.

Sqa_Wizard, it looks like I've solved my problem - after playing with ALL the attributes of the folder (tick - untick), for some time. It helped... in the end :)
Yet, I'm not sure I can explain what has triggered the desired change.

Anyways, big, big thank you for directing me in the right way!
