A TC window sometimes goes blank (64-bit version only)

Post by *wgp »

Hi,

I first noticed this problem in Windows 7 64-bit. I've now upgraded to Windows 8 64-bit and the problem remains. I'm not sure what causes the file list to disappear in one of the windows but, once it does, I need to close and reopen Total Commander. No problem with the 34-bit version of TC.

Strange -- I've searched the forum but couldn't find this reported by anyone else.

Thanks

I've searched the forum but couldn't find this reported by anyone else.
I don't recall that it has either.

What kind of drive (local / network / CD / DVD / USB /FTP etc.) is opened in the affected panel when it happens?
Is it only left, or only right panel or both?
Does it happen spontaneously, or when you change drive/directory?
If spontaneously - is TC in foreground or in background?
Have you tried it with a "fresh" wincmd.ini file to rule out that it might be caused by any plugins?
How frequently does it happen?
Does TC stop responding when it happens?

It may be a display driver problem. Please check whether there is a newer driver for Windows 8.

Sorry for the delayed reply ... it's been a busy week and I've been using the 32-bit version. I'll check the video driver and, if that isn't it, I'll try to answer petermad's questions. Thanks!
