in w8 64 bit "tc850x32_64_b3.exe" installs 32 bit

Post by *ednieuw »

I downloaded tc850x32_64_b3.exe and installed (upgraded it over 8.01) on my Windows 8 64 bits laptop.
The About windows displays:
Total Commander Version 8.5083 32 bit (2013-09-10)

laptop MSI GE620DX with Windows 8 pro installed

Is the 32-bit version installed on this 64 bit system?

Yes for sure it is.
That is what the combined installer does: It installs 32-bit and 64-bit version into the same folder, just as the name says.
To start the 32-bit use: TOTALCMD.EXE
To start the 64-bit use: TOTALCMD64.EXE

There should be 2 icons on the Desktop and on the start screen, one for the 32-bit version and another for the 64-bit version. In some cases (e.g. to use 32-bit only plugins) it can be beneficial to use the 32-bit version on 64-bit Windows.
