In the requester to add a new directory to the "Hot Directory List", we have a checkbox "Also save the target dir" and also "Add to sub menu". I wish we could a third checkbox like "Open Configure after addition". I wish that for two raisons: first, because TC does not show more than one level deep of submenus and second because anyway for some submenus I need to place them in a certain order so I need to re-open anyway the configure directory window to place the new added dir in the correct place in order for me. This new checkbox option would allow me to immediately have the configure menu dialog to open. AND, also, at that moment, maybe TC could also scroll me to where the directory has been added in the menu and highlight it to allow me to see it quickly and immediately sort/move it at the correct place according to my order.
OR EVEN SIMPLER
Maybe in the "Change directory menu" window we got when we do the "Configure", in the top right, under the button "Add item...", maybe simply we could have another button "Add current dir". This way, if I want to add a specific folder from the main panels I would not do an addition like now but go directly to the "Change directory menu", I would place the selection just above where I want to add my new directory shortcut and then click this famous new "Add current folder we're in" button and with limited of clicks would add my folder shortcut directly where I want to. Windows works like that for adding new folder to favorite ones. I would much prefer this solution then first one mentioned. Once I am in the folder I need to add I would do CTRL+D, and then move to the correct spot in the menu list and click the new button. Simple.
Maybe it's too much to ask but I am an avid user of the feature "Hot Dir List". I am using a Total Commander on a USB memory stick in three work environments (one at the time) so I have a lot of sub menus with folders. It's very efficient, very quick for me to switch to the correct folder where I spent 95% of my time. No other tool can beat that! This suggestion would make the addition of new folders easier and allow me to immediately spot it in the correct spot in my menus.
