Tooltips of URL files

Hello everybody!

Is there a way to have the full length of the tooltip of URL files?

A plugin or a parameter in the wincmd.ini file for example...

Here is an occurence that shows exactly the problem:

(I let you add the prefix and remove the spaces because I haven't been allowed to insert the link!!! Even for a picture given to show the problem! That's really insane when one logs in for the first time because meeting a problem... which is so easy to show with a single picture!!!)

You may use the URL Grank content plugin. Then do
* Menu Configuration -> Display
* Press Help texts -> User-defined "+" Button
* Add "*.url", then OK
* Type "URL: [=URLGrank.URL]" where URLGrank is the name of the plugin. Then press OK 3 times.
But I am not sure if long URL is shorthend anyway by tooltip control.

Small typo in URL - as i guess you mean "URL Grank" - http://www.totalcmd.net/plugring/urlwdx.html

I tried to explain in the French forum, see here. Apparently you have enabled the option to show comments from Explorer which shows the same tip as Explorer does. In Explorer the URL is also shortened (example).

You can install a content plugin that makes the url value available to Total Commander. This value can be shown in the tooltip as explained above.

I tried the URL Grank content plugin and the URL was not shortened.
The Shelldetails plugin mentioned in the French thread delivers different values for different operating environments. On my system it does not make the URL value available.

Yes, 32 bit only. There has been no update of URL Grank for 8 years. I could do a recompile for 64 bit - some day.
