Icons in TC are different than in windows explorer?

Post by *omenge »

The icons I see in windows explorer are different from the icons in TC. More specifically I have some "special" folders managed by a cloud storage tool where the folder and document icons show if the object is synced with the cloud (icon carries a little green check mark) or if it is not synced (icon carries a little red "forbidden" traffic sign). These may be "overlay" icons but I don't understand too much about that.

Is there a way to show these icons in TC?

Thanks,

O.

Try to enable Configuration - Options - Icons - Show overlay icons

However, some shell extensions may only work in Explorer. Also make sure to use the 64-bit version of Total Commander on 64-bit Windows, because most third party tools do not install their 32-bit extension on 64-bit Windows.

I tried to set the overlay option and I am using the 64 bit version - but no luck.

I gather there is nothing that can be done to solve this?

Oops. I thought I had installed the 64bit version but apparently not. Now tried with 64bit and all is fine!

Many Thanks,

Hi, sry if this has been already answered but I couldn't find it. With new version of TC - 8.50 (I used 7.56a for a while) I get this new icon design upon confirmation when deleting a file/directory which I don't like at all. I would make a screen but I'm not allowed to as a new registered member but I guess everybody knows what I'm talking about. Is it possible to reverse it or somehow modify an ini file or something like that? Thank you.

Add "VistaDelete=0" to your wincmd.ini("Configuration -> Change Settings Files Directly...") Section [Configuration].

But you may notice that deletion of huge folder may take longer without this new deletion method.

Try adding the parameter:

VistaDelete=0

to the [Configuration] section of your wincmd.ini file.

VistaDelete=1 was made default since TC 8.0 beta 7, so that's probably why you experience the change when upgrading from 7.56a
