Trouble with search (ctrl+s) function

Post by *daktari »

Machine I search from: Windows 7

Machine where I search: unRAID server

TC version: 7.56a

I've recently begun to notice that ctrl+s results don't match what is on the server. I tested just now with both a Putty window and Total Commander open. I searched in TC, found one result. The Putty session found seven results, which is the correct amount.

I opened a folder that is inside the Movies share, then just went back one dir to the root and did ctrl+s again. Seven results.

Any thoughts?

Limelight login: root
Linux 3.9.11p-unRAID.
root@Limelight:/mnt/user# cd mnt/user/Movies/
root@Limelight:/mnt/user/Movies# find -name '*blue*'

To be clear: ctrl+s is a filter, not a search!
You can filter the list of already displayed files according your specified filter. It usually works for the current directory only.

The "find" command will search at the current directory and all subdirectories too.

This may explain the different hits.

Should be mentioned that quick search/filter has some options that may be set on "Configuration - Quick search" page. E.g. it may match names from beginning and/or from ending or not.

I think there should be a combination of options that will produce same results as regular search, but it is a quick filter and it has another purpose.
