Multithreaded FTP downloading

The (home) internet speeds are increasing all of the time.
With a single thread download I can’t get the maximum speed out of my home internet connection.
I have experimented with FileZilla and multithreaded downloading and I can get easily 4 threads with 2,5MiB/s each.

With Total Commander you can do multithreaded FTP downloading by starting 2 or more transfers using the background manager.
This works great speed wise, but this is always a manual operation.

I would be great if TC can do this automatically.
So when a user starts a FTP download, TC automatically uses x background manager windows to download the files.
