Q re permissions when copying with synchronize

Post by *brahman »

Hello,

sorry about this simple question, but it always confuses me:

I want to copy two partitions full of data to another HD to be used in another Win 7 machine.

For fastest copying I want to take the target drive and connect it to the SATA controller of the PC (win 7) which contains the data.

How do I copy the files with TC using synchronize files, so that I do not get permission problem when opening/changing/deleting the files after I put the HD back into the original machine where it belongs?

Thanks for your help.
Regards, Brahman

You should use a disk cloning tool for the partition which contains system folders, not Total Commander. Then copy the other partition normally.
