Find files: find only number of items per search criteria

Post by *DrShark »

Edit: fixed major detail in §1

This suggestion, or a group of suggestions, is/are quite weird. I hope I'll define it clear enough :)
So, I need TC to automatically stop search in following tasks:
§1. TC finds first item per search criteria.
Example: search for "file.mp3", after first file appeared "Search results:" area TC must stop search.
If search in field request was for two or more files, like "file.mp3" and "file2.mp3, TC should stop search for
first request name after first item found, then auto-search for second item.
As of wild cards and RegEx requests, I'll write below in separate chapter.
§2. Making what almost we did in previous §, but now task a in a bit more complex.
We make item per search criteria number user-defineble.
So when this nuber is "2", TC do not to search for 3rd appearence of first requested name, goes to search for second name in request, stops after and found two items. Found files list after search finished will contain 4 items.
§3. Adding rules on where to search for each search name in request. All other parts of task are from previous chapters.
So §1 case, when we define one name in search request, and a location to seach, it will almost exactly duplicate §1 when one item is present in search.
However, if two locations defined, TC sholud find file for first appearence in first location, stop, search for first file appearence in second location, stop again.
Two files max can appear in results list, one for each location. §3 together with first part of §1 search may fit with existing "Search in:" field where we can past desired locations.
§4. Yet again more complex, it require special rules file, since
sepatate locations may be defined for each request name and for each iteration from number of appearence.
$5. Wildcards and RegEx requests in "Search for:" field. Each group with wildcard in requst (separator between such groups is a space) and RegEx rule to be treated as a "request name", the term I used in $1—4.

All above kind of searches may help, at first, as a pre-filter when search for duplicates in TC used. $1—3 are also good for a very quick search.

I'm posting this in TC Suggestions thread since because of high dependence of the rules on each other, I'm not sure if it's possible to write a content plugin for it. However, the solution with plugin, if possible, is welcome too.
