Anyone seen this problem?
When I move file from my Win 8.1 system to a network share the move sometimes stops with a TC message about a file being read-only. If I click on RETRY everything completess normally. Btw, none of the files are read-only.
I'm using TC v8.51a x32 (elevated).

It can happen when moving EXE files where Windows is busy extracting icons from them. If you have a slow virus scanner, it can take several second per EXE file to extract the icons. If you try to move/delete the file then, it will be denied because it is open.

Thanks CG. These are all .WAV files.ghisler(Author) wrote:It can happen when moving EXE files where Windows is busy extracting icons from them. I'm assuming it's some kind of Win 8.1 issue but was just curious if someone else had seen it. Problem does not happen if I use Explorer.
Are there are changes you can think of that I could make in CONFIGURATION->COPY/DELETE settings to try to resolve the problem?

Does it show special per file icons for your .WAV files? I have this for mp3 (it shows the bitrate in the icon). Such additional info would be taken from the file contents, so the file has to be opened (and cannot be moved/deleted while it's open).

No, it's a shell extension, free with source, available here:
http://www.mutschler.de/mp3ext/
To use the custom icons in TC, you may need to set the icon to %1 in Files - Associate - Edit type - Change icon.
