I just installed the v9.082 beta version.
I don't know if I am the onliest person, but I do have problems with the way the new drive buttons look.
They are a bit small and no so easy to see the difference between kind of drive.
For example it is no longer visible which drives are memory card slots or not.
My suggestion is to make it better visible if a specific drive is a memory card slot or not as it was in version 8.52 and before.

TC9 uses the Windows Explorer drive icons by default now, because people complained that the old icons look like Windows 3.1.

Hi mr Ghisler.
I am a TC user of the first hour (started with Windows Commander) and have made many others enthusiastic.
The reason why I asked about these appearance of the icons is because one cannot see the difference between a normal HD or an (internal ) USB HD or Memory card slot. I have many (16-18) internal and external connected DVD's/HD's/partitions, so it is difficult now to pick out the memory card devices.
Is it possible to make the way it appears configurable in Options-Appearance so that one can decide. New style or old style.
I miss the green down arrow indicating a lot.

Old style is available via INI:
Code: Select all
[Configuration]
OldDriveIcons=2
This is great, it works, I can see the memory card devices now with a green arrow.
Only one difference I still notice right now.
TC 8.52a also shows the USB connected drives with the arrow down, but TC 9.082 doesn't show the green arrow.
Can I change that as well so that TC 9.082 also shows the green arrow to indicate it is an USB external device?

Windows reports them as harddisks. TC 8.x made some checks of its own to verify whether they are external or internal. This is disabled because it doesn't work with the Explorer icons. I will check whether I can add it back when using old icons.
