How to send file(s) to an application quickly ?

Post by *Michael REMY »

hi,

Last time, i used Corel PSP X3 which had a perfect shell integration in the contextual menu : i could select many image files and chose directly "edit with Paintshop.." at the root of the contextual menu from Windows explorer and TC 8.5 (in Win7 x64).

Now i upgraded to Psp X8 and that shell integration is missing :

i can't have "edit with PSP" in the root of my contextual menu (neither explorer, nor TC), it is a bug from PSP X8 installer.
The ""edit with PSP"" item in the menu ONLY appears for ONE & ONLY ONE file, not many ! (yes it is a very funny bug from Corel).

so i'm searching a way to optimize my image process workflow to not lose time in clic process when i'm browsing my image files.
i try in tC :

1.
i selected 2 files and search a feature to start a application with keyboard, i imagine i could press CTRL+P and run my PSP software but i didn't find that kind of feature in the preference of TC

2.
i selected 2 files and then i dragged them on my PSP button in the top bar (where i put a custom button to open PSP and other apps i often use).
But TC does not allow the drop (neither the parameters i guess) on button there...
it would have been great that feature was possible !!!

so, how can i do that in TC ?
now, i need less than 3 clicks after my selection operation.

ps : i don't want to associate my file type to the application PSP because it is already associated to my viewer application (which is not Corel PSP).
i'm an old long user of TC since the windows 3.11 release !, for the history, i came to tc when i migrate from amiga commodore to PC where they are diskmanager and directory opus there.

Hi Michael REMY,
a feature to start a application with keyboard, i imagine i could press CTRL+P and run my PSP software
Configuration - Options - Misc - Control - P - Loupe symbol - usercmd.ini - New - em_PSP - OK, fill out like you would a button in the top bar and OK your way out to the config dialog where you click the green checkmark symbol next to the loupe symbol, OK and Ctrl-P should work.
i selected 2 files and then i dragged them on my PSP button in the top bar
Try clearing the Start path field of the PSP button and putting

Code: Select all

%S
or

Code: Select all

%P%S
into the Parameters field, then select the files and click the button.

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.
